Chris Simpson – 100WPM Teeline Shorthand Journalist

Chris Simpson I came to Pitman Training on the recommendation of one of the editors at the Manchester Evening News so that I could get a 100wpm shorthand qualification. After looking into the course I knew it was the right one to help me.

I’ve recently started some freelance sports writing for as part of their Advanced Program in Sports Media, writing articles (mainly about football) and will soon be working with the breaking news and live blogging teams.

In the future I’m hoping to become a full-time sports writer/journalist.

My tip for students studying shorthand would be to practice very often, but have regular short breaks. I’ve found it’s more effective to study regularly for half an hour to an hour, than to do four hours at a time every so often.
