How We Deliver Training.
We provide training in 4 different ways:
- Self-paced education, where individuals work at their own pace with an audio track, workbook and PC and on-site tutors at our learning centres.
- Public seminars at our learning centres where individuals or groups of students from your organisation can enjoy learning with people from other organisations.
- In-company seminars, delivered exclusively to your staff either at our learning centres or at your own offices.
- Online in the comfort of your students’ own workplaces or homes.

Frequently Asked Questions.
“How Can I Get My People Trained When I Can’t Get Them All In The Same Place At The Same Time?”
No problem! Our self-paced learning methodology means that each of your students can start when you specify and study at times to suit their workload and other commitments. And because our methodology means everybody takes the same lessons, no matter when they study, they all get the same quality of education.
We’ll create a timetable and deadlines for their studies and fit this around their ability to attend.
We’re open till 8:00 pm, Monday to Thursday, till 4:30 Fridays and till 4:00 pm Saturdays so we’ll find a way to ensure they complete the training within your timelines, even if each student has a completely different timetable!
We’ll also give you constant updates so you can be confident that all your students are performing optimally.
“How Can I Be Confident In The Quality Of The Training?
Firstly because we’ve just scooped the silver award for Learning Centre Of The Year in the National IT Training Awards!
Plus, whether you choose self-paced learning, seminars or on-line lessons, you’ll be relying on 170 years of training expertise. When Isaac Pitman launched his revolutionary shorthand system in 1831, he set the standard for training in office skills.
And it’s comforting for you to know that we have over 85 learning centres in the UK alone, making us one of the largest educational providers in our field.
In addition, many of our programmes, such as our legal secretarial, medical secretarial and bookkeeping courses are accredited by external bodies.
And maybe best of all, our High Holborn, Notting Hill and Manchester training centres have some of the highest pass rates for the highest standards of Pitman Training exams.
“Are Your Programmes Accredited?”
Our medical secretarial courses are approved by AMSPAR, the Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Managers, Administrators and Receptionists.
Pitman Training Centres in the UK are recognised by the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) as training providers for Continual Professional Development (CPD).
We’re recently been appointed a Microsoft IT Academy too, so all our MS Office courses offer Microsoft certificates at no extra cost!
“Can You Train People Outside London?”
It is often possible to hold seminars around the country or to deliver self-paced training at more than 85 Pitman Training centres across the UK. Just ask!
“How Much Will It Cost?”
We need to talk to establish exactly what your training will cost, however we position ourselves as providers of the highest quality education at a mid-range price.
“What Are Your Opening Hours?”
We’re open from 09:00-20:00 Monday to Thursday, 09:00-16:30 Friday and 10:00-16:00 on Saturday, so there’s always a way to study outside your other commitments.
And we can operate seminars at times to suit your groups!
“How Do My Students Find You?”
Our comfortable High Holborn centre is smack in the middle of London’s City and West End, at 303-306 High Holborn, between Holborn and Chancery Lane tube stations (we’re slightly nearer Chancery Lane, exit 4).
Our Notting Hill centre is above WH Smith at Notting Hill Gate. Take Notting Hill tube, north exit B.
Our Manchester centre is 5 mins walk from the main bus station and opposite the National Express coach station at 6th Floor, Arthur House, Chorlton Street, Manchester, M1 3FH.
