The Medical Office Diploma consists of 7 core modules:
- Medical Terminology
- Medical Word Processing
- Touch Typing
- Effective Business Communication
- Microsoft Word (choice of levels)
- Microsoft Excel (choice of levels)
- Microsoft Outlook
You will then choose 3 elective subjects from our full list of courses.
At the end of the course, students leave with the key skills required to be able to excel in future roles in the medical administration sector.

Who Should Take This Course?
If you would like to work in admin in the medical sector but currently have no proven skills, this is the course for you.
It’s also suitable for those already working in this field but would like to have a professional qualification to prove their ability to future employers.

How Do We Train?
Our training is really flexible – you can start the Medical Office Diploma at any time, and you can study during the day, evenings, Saturdays or a mixture of these – it’s up to you.
All of our courses are self-paced, and you’ll enjoy studying at our training centres in London’s Notting Hill and High Holborn, or in Central Manchester where our friendly, knowledgeable trainers will support you should you have any questions as you work through the course.
If you can’t get to one of our training centres, some modules are available to study from home via distance learning.
At the end of each module you’ll take an exam and when you’ve passed, you’ll receive a nationally recognised Pitman Training diploma.
How Long Does It Take?
Some students will complete the Medical Office Diploma in as little as 6 weeks, but you do have up to a year to finish the course.
The course duration all depends on how often you come in to study, depending on your work or personal commitments.
